NPL Canada once again participated in the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer. Benefitting the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation—one of the top five cancer research centres in the world and a recognized international leader in the fight against cancer—this incredible and challenging two-day cycling event spanned over 200 kilometres throughout Ontario’s picturesque countryside. The team consisted of cyclists Alana Beckett, Chris Webb, Jackie Philpott, Lynn Belisle, Marcel Singh, Michelle Shannon, Mike Sentance and Neil Waugh. Support for the team throughout their journey was provided by Chelsey Hester and Robin Belisle.
The NPL Canada team raised over $40,000. In all, more than 4,000 riders raised over $17 million to support personalized cancer medicine, which includes breakthrough research, treatment advances, education and new standards of care at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Since 2008, The Ride has raised over $138 million and is currently Canada’s largest cycling fundraiser.
